Lime

Lime is trying achingly hard. It's as though the restaurant's investors made a list of the bar slash restaurant trends du jour: house mojito - check; miso- glazed bass - check, interactive video - check; overly cute theme - check; arch uniforms - check; small bar food - check. The decor is kitsch and is the first thing everyone who comes for a visit will talk about - no classic dining room here. Instead it's somewhere between Mod and Pop (the lime chairs, pink and brown white belted uniforms, the cheesy 80s music, video screens dotting the white sushi bar.) The food is "small plates" - shrunken teensy burgers, tandoori skewers, bite size fish tacos - and yes, even the miso- glazed sea bass is miniature. You have to give them a thumbs up for all their hard work. And it's undeniable that this place is popular but we wonder like a ticking clock in a cliche thriller flick just how long this will hold the audience's attention? One and half hours? Maybe just one and twenty?
