Though rnm has been open since 2002, it remains cool, fun and interesting. In the grungy lower Haight where chef Justine Miner liked to hang out, rnm (named for Miner’s late father) is known for its seafood. Scallops with porcini mushrooms and Arctic char with sweet peas win rave reviews as editors continue to pile in and give this place best newcomer awards. Miner (who worked at The Globe, Postrio, Café Kati and Diner which she helped open) also turns out a bit French, a bit Italian tiny burgers and Syrah short ribs with lemon risotto in her American “small plates” menu.
