If there was any sign that the upper east side is stretching its wings, this is it. With the closures of key ues restaurant slash watering holes, the benefit set has taken to 9th Street. Briefly Ocean's 21 then Griffou, this spot now has a more successful life serving up such dishes as gougeres, pork belly, lamb bacon risotto, a hen of the woods with broccoli rabe, and the filet with white asparagus, to pretty things and the women who accompany them. Somewhat of a members only situation, Sundays are for members only and the lounge has been known to be taken over for events hosted by them. Appropriately this spot serves up a drink called the Gatsby in addition to the classics of Moscow mules, Tom Collins, and Side Cars. If Omar's had a theme song, we're pretty sure it would be Taco's Putting On the Ritz.
