Despite the weirdness of naming this spot DBGB (seriously Daniel Boulud, we love you but you do not conjure up the Ramones, Misfits, Television or Talking Heads) this consistent and reliable restaurant is part of one of the first New York chef's efforts to turn the American notion of a gastropub into a neochain. (Boulud's other spots being such places as cafe boulud, DB Bistro Moderne etc.) Offering up a blend of Frenchified American food, such as the Piggie burger (pulled pork, jalapeno mayonnaise on a cheddar bun), steak frites, steak tartar, and the Frenchie (pork belly, arugula, tomato and onion compote, Morbier on brioche), this spot is not for those on a dairy-free kale diet. However for those who love a burger washed down with a craft beer from some brewhouse you've never heard of, or perhaps in a hipsterish can (ah, college), this spot will fulfill all your brunch and dinner cravings. Best for groups or more casual dates, the large room can get quite noisy and service can be spotty.
