Every year during Spring or Fall Fashion Week, a few good restaurants open. The buzz on the block that houses Cain, Home AND B.E.D. is Pre:Post. As in pre one and post the others... Owners Gary Malhotra, Carlo Seneca, Ed Sanger, John Englebert (JE to his friends) have already hosted a blizzard of who's who in fashion - all the major designers from Douglas Hannant and Frederick Anderson, Nicole Miller, Vera Wang, Heatherette, and on have made it down to sample Chefs Damien Reynor and Paul Landau's eats. In typical fashion hours, they're open from 12pm ­ 8am. Which also suits those late night writer types, Joan Collins, Jay McInerney (does the man sleep?), and Tama Janowitz have crossed the threshold too - and all have been snapped by Patrick McMullan.
