Despite initial concerns that The New York EDITION would be too corporate given Schrager's business partnership, the hotel not only didn't disappoint at launch; it continues to thrive. The 273 rooms, suites and penthouses overlooking Madison Square Park offer an unparalled central access to New York with the Museum of Math, Eataly, jewellery shop Outlette and the Shake Shack chain flagship all just outside. The Clocktower restaurant featuring Jason Atherton's cooking is the right kind of spot for proposals and hosting in-laws, and the adjacent bar, with its creative cocktails, such as the one in a glass milk "carton", invites lingering. Parties and dinners by Jaeger Le-Coultre, Jeremy Kost and other notables keep the spot buzzy and fresh.
