The Bowery Hotel
335 Bowery
212 505 9100

Perhaps the Maritime singlehandedly led the crush of tourists into the MPD. Now the Bowery Hotel is likely to do the same to this once frontier-like section of Manhattan. Surrounded by cookery and lamp shops, Eric Goode comes back to his old Bowery Bar stomping grounds with his and Sean MacPherson's spot across the street. The hotel has already hosted slews of celebs courtesy of the Traveler party and the Gap- Vogue party. But old NY stops in the dark, Cask of Amontillado-esque arched lobby because the modern rooms upstairs are dreamy and airy, with ceiling fans overlooking expansive white beds, light grey marbled bathrooms and enormous multi-paned windows that still boast the kind of views most NYers never get.
