The Cobalt Club is the protege of Steven Greenberg (Palladium and Roxy) at the newly vamped Gramercy Park Hotel. Visits by Francesco and Alba Clemente, Moby, Fred Schneider, and Matt Dillon may break the trend of tragedies falling upon the coveted hotel, where hipness is within reach in the hands of swaggering hotelier, financier, and general bon vivant Greenberg. Cobalt and its owner promise the velvet rope will keep hookers and Hilton girls away from classy antiques such as Karl Lagerferld's former sofas, former Greenberg dates, and Christie's furniture. Heaven forbid the Duke of Windsor's cocktail shaker should make a drink for the wrong sort. With $30 martinis, Cobalt is serious business. Greenberg is taking out the trash.
