Michael Kang brings his celeb - frequented Laguna Beach favourite to L.A., trading in the old place's casual beach atmosphere for a more sophisticated setting. Kang is one of the originators of the now ubiquitous trend of ethnic fusion cuisine - he started way back in the 80s, when it was still a new and exciting concept. He and executive chef Eric Nguyen serve their Chinese - French menu in the old Le Colonial space, which also offers a separate bar and lounge called 5:15, named for the time when people should start happy hour.
