The Zetter 86-88 Clerkenwell Road 011 44 207 324 4444 Stuck in bloody Clerkenwell after work? Yes, we feel bad for you. But you can drown your sorrows here at The Zetter, a fabulous 70s esque round bar and circular restaurant. Packed every night, it's the place where the young and chic go in EC1. Though people keep claiming that this neighbourhood will become the 'it' spot, let's face it, it is dead at night. So thank heavens for these folks. A fabulous Italian inspired menu, such as courgette salad with mint, parmesan and artichokes, rump of lamb with borlotti bean and a parma ham risotto are all tasty. Desserts seem a bit experimental (reflecting the neighbourhood?) such as a grilled peach with lemonade foam in a martini glass. Though perhaps by the time you read this, they will have shifted the sweets to something less avant garde. Note to car owners, happily there's parking right behind the place but if you drank, lucky for you, the restaurant is attached to the cute hotel upstairs. |
