Sure there's eats upstairs, but through the alleyway, down the questionable stairs is the bar room and this is where the scene (if you can really call something this intimate a scene) takes place. What it lacks in swishiness, it really makes up for in authenticity. Real bartenders (not mixologists or some other annoying moniker) make real cocktails, but will also pour you a nice glass of champagne. Guest DJs – such as the guy from Placebo?! - come in with real records, not a computer they then pretend to "mix". Bargoers have real jobs not some tryout at a modeling agency. And at a recent event, a punch served up old school style had floating rubber duckies and a nice silver ladle – basically what you'd expect at someone's house. If only their basement was half this cool.
