The big event is Sunday's Grand Tasting and the champagne- happy Bubble Q. Other hip highlights include Saturday's Interactive lunch and the Wine seminars also begin on Saturday.

This year the classic but usually sedate conference is all firey as the gossips all remarked on the absence of chef Rocco DiSpirito's participation. Industry insiders claim that he and the owner of his spot Rocco's on 22nd Street, Jeffrey Chodorow got into a tussle and Jeffrey won, punting the publicity- happy Rocco off the conference. While we can neither confirm nor deny, we're looking forward to seeing the ever- fabulous Chodorow, who will be honoured at this year's conference.
