Ghouls, Gobblins & Heidi Klum, oh my.
Last Halloween, Heidi Klum's party drew the likes of Kyle McLachlan and Alan Cumming so the pressure on us to have a good costume at her bash is definitely on.
And if you're not joining us at Capitale in NYC, at the Klum-fest...what to do, where to go?
Here's our Breakdown of the best parties for your costume.
HONG KONG
All the rage across the Pacific this year is Giorgio Armani's store opening. His largest store ever, apparently it has everything. Why on Halloween, who knows, but it's the place to be. That is, if you're invited.
MIAMI
In Miami, our fave journalist, party guy, man about town Tony Miros is throwing two fetes back to back.
Both with Biscayne Magazine, first a Masquerade Ball at Tantra. Cocktails by Montecristo Rum. RSVP for a table to 305 672 4765. A mere 35 bucks gets you a 3 course din-din. Level is throwing Part 2 of the festivities with
$10,000 in prizes thanks to Virgin Air and complimentary Vampire Cocktails from 9-10pm. To go you must RSVP to rjanzer@biscaynemagazine.com by 10/30.
PARIS
Of all the "boums" in Paris, the house and R & B- infused party for the release of Halloween Resurrection the flick is our vote for Le Ticket to fun. At L'Espace Madeleine.
11-13 rue Duphot. We strongly suggest that you speak French if you call to RSVP at 011 33 6 20 40 89 58 so you might want to at least try out one of the translations sites and email contact@bluestaragency.fr
LOS ANGELES
As with years past, the place to be is Ian Schrager's Sky Bar. This year the hosted-by Pantera Sarah and the kids from That Seventies Show shindig is all about the seventies in a Sunset Strip kind of way. Complete with go-go dancers above you.
DETROIT
In Detroit, the only cool lounge is The Bosco (sorry, Michigan fans. It's true. Don't even try to challenge it.)
Dj Urban Kris. 8 pm and on. $10 before 10. Pick up one of The Bosco's groovy CDs while you're at it. RSVP to mlmooney25@aol.com or www.thebosco.com
BOSTON
If you're not at the Clicquot Yelloween do at the Hampshire House on Beacon, well, you're just not cool enough for school. But you might also make the grand opening of I/D upstairs from Axis on Landowne Street.
And our favourite theme party is the Come As Your Favourite Deity at the Naimo Gallery. I'm a God, you're a God, we're all a God-God?
LAS VEGAS
Although offering little in the way of deets to back it up (no, there's no open bar), the Midnight Oil- Rande Gerber crew claim that their bash at the Whiskey Sky will be all the rage. We do know that Crystal Method is playing. Nothing like a little "High Roller" to heat up this town. $30. www.tickets.com
SAN FRANCISCO
Day before Spooooky Night, the folks at the Clift Hotel got it going on with an invite-only Masquerade Ball at the Redwood Room. Since SF is on it's own schedule having already had the Exotic Erotic on the 19th (what the?!?), we know that this culled guest list will be the gig in town that makes the news.
NEW YORK
And if you're not at the Heidirama with us, visit with Susanne Bartsch at the Copacabana. $15, doors at 10, Bud's a sponsor as is M.A.C. and the Village Voice so dress like the fuh-reak you are. 11th, corner of 34th.
Or another tasty choice if more sedate choice is Joonbug, Zyr Vodka and Commune's bash at 22nd betw Park & Broadway. $20 in advance by RSVPing to 212 255 4223
Our past costumes involve such things as a grain of salt, an Oompa Loompa and the Great (Evil) Pumpkin, so don't let us down.
Reading about a party here does not mean guaranteed admission. We can't make you all cool, kids...Work it a bit, eh?
HIPEVENT
Don't miss out on the ESQUIRE film fest in NYC.
Chic designers hosting free flicks.
The LAST week!!
Tuesday Oct 29 John Varvatos hosts Pulp Fiction
Cocktails at Serena immediately following the film.
Must RSVP to 212 649 4154
